Interesting art pieces from around the world

Because of a school, I got to go on a trip to Beijing! I have never really looked forward to trips to China – dirty, unfamiliar, strange. But surprising, I had a great time! So here’s my quote for today (it’s one everybody knows, I’m sorry it’s unoriginal):

“Never judge a book by its cover.” – Anonymous (actually there is a long history behind the quote, but maybe some other time.

Maybe it was just the fact that I went on the trip with my classmates, but it was about 1000 times better than my last trip to Beijing with my family. We stayed at a disgusting hotel, with a dirty bathroom and nasty air vents, but we had the best food ever. Of course the Beijing Duck was a must. Wrapping the skin in with the leek and the sauce… there are no words to describe it. It just melts in your mouth. The second night, we went to  a Thai restaurant (a little weird in China, I know) but it was so good. Especially the curry crab. That night, I found out that curry and crab is the best combination ever when it comes to food. The next day, we went to Silk Market to eat Sorento’s pizza. It was real, Italian pizza, and I didn’t even have time to worry about how many calories the greasy pieces had in it. On the third night, we enjoyed original Chinese cuisine at a really good price. It was too good to be true. The last night, we ate at a local food court, a tepangyaki special (Japanese in China haha) and there, I probably ate the best fried eggs I have ever had in my whole life. I forgot my camera – so like me of course – but I did manage to take a picture of the delicious eggs! Aren’t they just mouth-watering?

Although at first I had not looked forward to the trip, it turned out to be a meaningful experience for me in the end. Even the extra work I had to make up for at school was worth it!
